About legendsDuring the middle ages, there were many famous legends and stories. Some stories of King Arthur was about his loyal and brave knights of the round table, others told about him and his holy great sword Excalibur. Legends of the Middle Ages were greatly exaggerated. For example while Robin Hood did exist, he didn't have the exciting adventures like in his many tales, he did help the poor. However, though the legends of the characters aren't true, they still give a sense of hope, excitement, and wonder to the people that tell and hear them.

Arthur's Knights
Though Arthur pulled the sword out of the stone himself, he didn't single-handedly manage his kingdom. Arthur only managed to protect and defend his kingdom with his "Knights of The Round Table" and his noble champion Sir Lancelot. Arthur's knights and Lancelot had helped Arthur with the kingdom, warfare, as well as defending and protecting the royal family. While there may have been a actual "knights of the round table" they have no relationships to the ones told in Arthur's chronicles.

The Wizard Merlin
Arthur was considered a great hero, but only because he was under the guidance of Merlin. Merlin was Arthur's adviser and wizard. He was considered the "wise man" of Arthur's court. Merlin was the one that guided Arthur when he was young and led him to become a successful King of Camelot. Merlin was supposed to be given birth from a demon and a human women, explaining how he got his"magical" powers. Merlin is purely a work of fantasy, however his existence has greatly influenced Arthur's tales, making him an important character in Middle Age Legends.
